I first discovered the idea of ‘Salt Walls’ at a park, East of Poland in a countryside town called Kazimierz Dolny.
After years of living in apartment complexes in congested cities like Manchester and London, my nose and respiratory airways had suffered the consequences as they were blocked due to Chronic Sinusitis.
I had travelled to Poland to meet my girlfriend’s family for the first time.
With the Salt Wall in front of me — they call it a Guardian Tower in Poland— and a plaque detailing its benefits, I thought that perhaps sitting in front of it could help calm my nerves before meeting the parents and possibly give me some added respiratory benefits.
Within moments, my blocked nose opened for the first time in 12 months, my body soothed as I felt the mist of fresh, clean, natural air flow through my body. A wave of peace and calmness washing over my entire being. All tightness in my body had been let loose. My brain felt like it was getting some sort of long-awaited nourishment. I've never tasted or felt air so fresh and rejuvenating in my life… My girlfriend joined me and we sat there for almost 2 hours.
When it was time to leave, I made sure to take photos of the wall from every angle; I knew one thing for sure — I absolutely needed one in my garden.
When I arrived to the UK, there were no retailers or online shops selling these walls. I discovered that these ‘Salt Walls’ (what I call them) had not yet penetrated the European market, let alone the UK market. I took this as a sign from the universe that it was my mission to bring this concept to the world.
I’m not claiming any sort of medical benefit from owning a Salt Wall, but my experience has been miraculous. I hope every person can at some point feel exactly how I felt — and still feel — when I'm in front of a Salt Wall. The coastal, fresh air rejuvenating and bringing new life to every cel in your body. The serenity that falls on you the moment you enter a Garden or room with a Sall Wall.
